What is Ascent?
Ascent Camp is a two-week service and discipleship camp for high school students. At Ascent Camp, teens will be provided with a place to put into practice the ministry of true religion and a selfless attitude of service.
Service & Discipleship
Participants will assist full-time and seasonal staff in providing an enjoyable and refreshing experience for guest groups, Expedition Day Campers (K-8th graders), and Base Campers (youth groups). Service opportunities will include cleaning, maintenance, kitchen help, activity assistance, trail clearing, and working with children and preteens. Each Ascent team member will be given a variety of service opportunities to stretch both their people skills and physical abilities. Whatever task is assigned, the focus will always be on serving others in Christ.
Ascent Campers will also engage in daily discipleship through morning devotions, team discussions and prayer, campfire worship, and other discipleship exercises led by Pine Valley staff. Ascent Campers will get the chance to practice their God-given abilities and talents and may even discover a few talents they didn't know they had. Participants who play an instrument are welcome to bring it to camp.
Housing
Ascent Camp team members will stay in housing at Pine Valley Bible Conference Center for the duration of the two weeks and will remain on camp except in the case of a sponsored or planned activity, such as a beach trip, hiking in Cleveland National Forest, or a service experience in San Diego.
