Wednesday February 1st, 2012, the Lord's servant Jeannette Kay was called home.  Jeannette served here at Pine Valley from 1965-2006 with her husband George.  Here are some of Jeannette's favorite verses and some quotes from a document on her time at camp:

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 For everything there is an appointed season, and there is a proper time for every project under the heaven... a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to root up what is planted, a time to wreck and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.

Psalms 94:17-19 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul would soon have settled in silence. If I say, “My foot slips,” Your mercy, O Lord, will hold me up.  In the multitude of my anxieties within me,
Your comforts delight my soul.

Psalms 9:1 I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, I will tell of all His marvelous works.

Psalms 100:4-5 (Therefore I will) enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. For the Lord is good; His loving kindness will continue forever.

Jeannette tells of things they have remembered of those days in that first year of being at Pine Valley.

We Remember -
“the Board members who committed our salary personally for the first three months.”

“sitting on the old basketball court, a number 10 can of rusty, used, bent nails before us and taking the nails one by one, and hammering them straight so they could be re-used.”

“the old dorms with no heat. Cracks in the wall, peeling paint, frogs that jumped on you in the showers, creaky bunks, dusty mattresses, and tin can lids nailed over the knot holes in the walls.”
