Forty Years.... and then some

What were you doing 40 years ago?

Were you toddling around in diapers or checking out Woodstock in your bell-bottoms and love beads?  I met someone this week who was working at good old PVBCC forty years ago.  Can you believe it?  Things sure have changed since then.  More buildings, different staff, and now a brand new swimming pool.  It’s great to see the camp through someone else’s eyes, to catch just a glimpse of the marvelous works God has done.  But talking about the transformation the camp has gone through made me realize - no matter how many alterations and additions and adjustments go on around me, no one and nothing can change the way God loves me.  [deep sigh of relief]  Yes, Jesus loves us.  The Bible tells us so.

These two scenes from in front of Fireside are taken about 40 years apart.... those trees sure came along nicely.

I remember hauling construction cement at Pine Valley in the 1950s. Pine Valley was the summer camp of choice for he Silver Acres Community Church (Santa Ana). Amazing it's still going strong.
